A sexual predator is (allegedly) a person who "preys on" the weak and defenseless by sexually assaulting ("preying on") them.
It is a neologism created by those wishing to monsterize[1] others who have sexual interests different from their own, as well as those who do truly physically attack and rape others.
Being deemed a "sexual predator" qualifies otherwise harmless BoyLovers--those who have been (unjustly) imprisoned for engaging in sexual (and sometimes even non-sexual) relationships with boys--to be commitment (for up to life) in mental institutions, by civil commitment procedures which do not allow the BoyLover the right to legal representation or the right to otherwise defend his interests. It is a grave violation of basic human rights.
The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that "civil commitment" of "sexual predators" who have finished serving a court-ordered term in prison is not a violation of U.S. citizen's constitutional rights: it is not "double jeopardy," "cruel and unusual punishment," nor does it violate the amendment prohibiting ex-post facto laws.
