Stand By Me (1986) is considered by some to be one of the all-time classic boy movies.
It follows a group of four 12-year-old boys who go off to the woods in search of a missing body. They aim to find and report it, in the hope that they will gain fame and a small reward. They find their journey more difficult than they imagined beforehand, and they have to rely on each other for support and friendship. Gordie (Wil Wheaton) and Chris (River Phoenix) are particularly close. The boys find that they learn a lot about life and friendship in the two days they spend on the journey.
This highly emotional film with a couple of cute boys would probably be enjoyed by many boylovers.
The Book
Stand By Me was based on the novella The Body by Stephen King. While the movie is top-notch, it avoids the issue included in the novella where King insinuates in the epilogue that Gordie and Chris were sexually involved later into their high school years.
