OK - thanks for the link. But there is a problem - maybe 25 or 30 pages have "Sandfort" in them. Some have a link created, and some do not. To go back and fix each one would be a lot of work. There must be a way to fix it globally - so that

1 The current links can be "fixed" and made correct,

2 so that other mentions of "Sandfort" are automatically turned into links.

One "dirty" way to do it would be to export the site into a file, then search/replace each string, then import the whole file. This actually may be a good way to fix these kinds of problems, because then it would be possible to fix many links at the same time.

Better yet would be a script to do it, but I have no idea how to do one (and no time to learn how, either). There may be scripts available in sources you are familiar with. Since this problem occurs in many many many pages, a way to fix it should be found (I have seen many other links/mentions of other terms with the exact same problem. Google Sandfort site:boywiki.org and you will get around 45 hits to distinct pages - but maybe 10 or 20 are to talk pages, or other stuff. The rest of the pages have "Sandfort" (with many variations, sometimes with Theo, sometimes just his first initials, etc.) in them, and some have a malformed link, most do not have any link at all. When I do a search on Sandford using BoyWiki's search function, I only come up with two and one link to that page. I think I understand what you are saying but the only way I know to add those links is page by page as you run across them. --Etenne (talk) 01:58, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

Well, there are other ways to fix the problem - I know that for a fact. It now becomes necessary to find those other ways, don't you agree? Because this kind of problem is so so so common on our site that it seems to make a lot more sense to spend some time now to find out how to fix the problem the "correct" way (scripts, etc.) than to ask the (somewhat limited number of) editors available here to spend hundreds and hundreds of hours fixing these kinds of problems one-by-one. Computers are here to make things easier, not more difficult - especially when it comes to repetitive tasks, aren't they? User4 (talk) 02:23, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
