The word "sex" is variously (and often very vaguely) defined in dictionaries, as well as on anti-pedophile web sites.
Definition
The word "sex" originally meant:
- (as a noun)
- the division of members of the same species according to their differing sexual characteristics
- sexual activity
- (as a verb)
- to determine the sex of
The use of the term "to have sex," has slipped so much in meaning that it has become a buzzword for much activity that is not normally considered to be erotic at all, but which is now referred to as "sex".
When someone (particularly sexophobes and antisexuals) talks about "having sex with children" they often only mean to irrationally stir up someone's emotions--and turn off the persons cognitive functions--by doing so.
