January
- In the beginning of January 2016, a number of groups came forward including Reform Sex Offender Laws, Inc and California Reform Sex Offender Laws Organization to oppose the bill H.R.515 [1] known as the International Megan's Law. In an editoral in the Washington Post, David Post compared the law to Nathaniel Hawthorne's, The Scarlet Letter [2] and "Hitler and the Holocaust" and the roundup of the Jews and the infamous “yellow star,” [3] (See also: Reform Sex Offender Laws news)
- Starting around January 22 and continuing into February, Free Spirits was subjected to a number of DDoS attacks. So far, no person or group has come forward to take credit for these attacks.
- January 22, the vicious heterosexual murderer Sarah Sands had her sentence increased to seven-and-a-half years from her original three-and-a-half year prison sentence for stabbing eight times the 77-year-old boylover Michael Pleasted on the 28th of November, 2014, killing him in cold blood. The British court ruled that her original sentence was “unduly lenient” [4]
- January 28 - in what Police are calling Operation Malaise, 13 people throughout Quebec and in Toronto were arrested, who they described as a Pedophile ring, on trumped-up charges steming from "allegedly exchanging advice on ways to sexually abuse children without raising suspicion", simply for their association in real life and in internet support forums. February
- February 1 - The U.S. House voted to pass the International Megan's Law (HR 515). It will now go to the President for his signature. [11] [12]
- February 8 - President Barack Obama signed HR 515, known as the International Megan's Law, into law.[13] [14]
- February 9 - A lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court, Northern District, San Francisco Division, challenging International Megan’s Law. [15] [16]
- February 16 - Tom O'Carroll is suspended from the Labour Party but despite the moral panic of party officials, he can't be kicked out straight away. Tom O'Carroll, 70, former chairman of the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE), who once called for the abolition of age-of-consent laws in the UK was suspended from Labour party in a move that appears to be an attempt to embarrass and destabilize the current leadership of the Labour Party by associating the party leader (Jeremy Corbyn) with Mr. O'Carroll. - February 18 - Les Amis de Toutes les Minorités Sexuelles (LATMS), a non-profit organization whose website offered services to sexual minorities including pedophiles in Canada, a Quebec superior court judge ruled should not legally be allowed to operate in the province citing that LATMS promoted "the idea that their sexual orientation is normal and worthy of respect.” [19]
