This is our top-level category; looking at it another way, it is the root category. BoyWiki has three main sub-root categories Encyclopedia, Entertainment‎, and Life‎.

  • Encyclopedia articles are factual articles written with the goal of preserving knowledge and elucidating ideas pertaining to boylove. In these categories you will find information about history, legal cases, the history of the online boylove community, and definitions of some of the terms that boylovers and boys use today.
  • Entertainment articles are articles written about the arts. In these categories, you will find information covering the entire range of art and media.
  • Life articles focus on the day to day life and community of boys and boylovers. In these categories, you will find information covering a wide array of things that touch on everyday life, including news, jokes, food, personal opinion, and personal stories from around the world.

Ideally, every other category should be a subcategory of at least one other, and every article should be in at least one category; many will fit well into two or more (e.g. location, year, and subject-matter).

These "Content" categories are intended for all articles about the subject matter of BoyWiki, while "Category:BoyWiki" is intended for all administrative matters and help pages. A full list of existing categories can be found at Special:Categories.

To add a new category to a page, just add [[Category:Categoryname]] to the end of the article or existing category page. If the category doesn't exist, it will create a red link. Click on this link and click on edit then add the category header by adding {{CH}} to the top of the page and click save. Sometimes it may be useful to add a short description of what the new category should contain as well. Don't forget to add your new category to an existing category by adding [[Category:Categoryname]] to the new category, which will make it a sub-category of that category.

This is a top level category. It should contain only subcategories and portals.
