Nudism

A movement, started in nineteenth-century Germany, that believes it is healthier and more natural not to wear any clothes. There are "nudist clubs", usually outdoors, where people can be nude without worrying about the law. (In most but not all places, public nudity is illegal.) There are also a limited number of beaches designated "clothing optional" in Europe and the United States.
Prior to the legalization of pornography, nudist magazines were often purchased (and sometimes created) for masturbatory purposes.
