Oregon
Oregon is a state in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. It is bordered on its west by the Pacific Ocean, on its north by Washington, on its south by California, on its east by Idaho, and on its southeast by Nevada. Oregon’s sex-crime laws, which appear with other "person" crimes in Chapter 163 of the Oregon Revised Statutes, have been described as a bewildering mess. Rankin Johnson IV note that "sex between a 17-year-old, with a birthday next week, and a 18-year-old, with a birthday next week, is contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor, ORS 163.435. That is a sex crime carrying lifetime sex-offense registration, and it is surely committed every day by ordinary high-school kids. Also, since the participants in such an act are also able to observe it, the 18-year-old is guilty of the Class A felony of using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct, ORS 163.670; See State v. Tyson, 243 Or App 94, 96, 259 P3d 64 (2011)."[1]
