Facultative Homosexuality describes a man or boy who lies more towards the heterosexual side of the sexual continuum and who does have some same-sex desire and who engages in homosexual sex, typically while in a sex-segregated, all male community such as a boarding school or a prison but also a person who may engage extra marital or intramarital sexual encounters with other males. The same-sex physical activity may be engaged in only for sexual pleasure, power, or control, or in situations where there are no members of the opposite sex and without having an emotional connection to their sexual partner.
