January
In the beginning of January 2016, a number of groups came forward including Reform Sex Offender Laws, Inc and California Reform Sex Offender Laws Organization to oppose the bill H.R.515 [1] known as the International Megan's Law. In an editoral in the Washington Post, David Post compared the law to Nathaniel Hawthorne's, The Scarlet Letter [2] and "Hitler and the Holocaust" and the roundup of the Jews and the infamous “yellow star,” [3]
January 22, the vicious heterosexual murderer Sarah Sands had her sentence increased to seven and a half years from her original three-and-a-half year prison sentence for stabbing eight times the 77-year-old boylover Michael Pleasted killing him in cold blood. The court ruled that her original sentence was “unduly lenient” [4]
