¹ a word or phrase which was originally (usually) a technical term, but which then becomes fashionable. The mass media, as well as other interested groups, often create buzzwords relating to sex or to sexuality (as well as other buzzwords which are demeaning to BoyLovers) in order to shock, or mislead the public.
