Three Marshalltown educators have been accused of sexual abuse and two have since died.
- Three Marshalltown Community School District former employees have been investigated for alleged sexual abuse of students, and two of those employees have since died in Story County — all within the past several weeks... both have been described by authorities as suicides — involved a police search of an Ames home last week.

- An Ocala man charged with molesting a teenager a few months ago has committed suicide. Claude Alexander Pinkston Jr. a 73-year-old man was found dead in his residence on Southeast 12th Street on Feb. 22, 2021.
