The History of Boylove History (from Greek ἱστορία - historia, meaning "inquiry, knowledge acquired by investigation) is the discovery, collection, organization, analysis and presentation of information about past events. History can also mean the period of time after writing was invented. Scholars who write about history are called historians. Amongst scholars, the fifth century BC Greek historian Herodotus is considered to be the "father of the study of history". The collective historical experience of Boylove dates back to the beginnings of recorded history, it is extensive and diverse and comprises the artistic and literary richness and influence of countless generations of Boylovers across all civilizations. One source of the myth says that Zeus fell in love with Ganymede when he spotted him herding his flock on Mount Ida near Troy in Phrygia. The hoop held symbolic meanings in Ancient Greek myth and culture and was used to represent a boy or youth in general in Greek art. The Greeks referred to the hoop as the trochus or krikoi, and they were probably made of bronze, iron, or copper. Hyacinth is a divine hero from Greek mythology and Apollo's young lover, a beardless youth. Apollo is one of the most important and complex of the Olympian deities in classical Greek and Roman religion and mythology and is celebrated for having many young male lovers including Hyacinth and Cyparissus. Apollo is known as a great teacher and mentor of men and boys alike. Online history IBLD Art by Scruffy Lad: Starting in December of 1998, Scruffy Lad created these cards as his tribute to International Boylove Day and his gift to the Boylove community. The BLogo is a graphic symbol for boylove that is widely used across the online boylove community. It consists of two blue intertwined triangles, one outer that symbolizes the man, and one inner that symbolizes the boy in a boylove relationship. Due to its shape, it is occasionally described as a "spirangle". Free Spirits is an organization formed to promote open communication among boylovers. It grew out of a need to ensure the continued existence of BoyChat, but has since sponsored various other resources. It is named after Kasper's Free Spirits web site, which was one of the first Web pages on the Internet created to celebrate boylove, and the original home of BoyChat. A History of BoyChat by Alexis was first added to the Free Spirits website in the late 1990's. It covers the history of the early years of BoyChat from 1995 to 1997. The Great Outage was the period between March and June 2001 during which all Free Spirits and FPC resources were offline. While Free Spirits had certainly experienced service outages before, none lasted as long as the period described here. It is unclear where the term "Great Outage" first originated from or who coined it but it was clearly in use on BoyChat by July 2001. Boylovers John Gambril Nicholson with his lover, Alec Melling John Gambril Nicholson ( October 6, 1866 - July 1, 1931) was an English school teacher and Uranian poet. He was also an amateur photographer. He was the quintessential Uranian, forming the center of that semi-underground world, and frequently writing introductions for and receiving dedications from his peers. Oscar Wilde (1854 - 1900) was a British writer. He is famous for titles like The Picture of Dorian Gray as well as his affection for boys, which landed him in prison in 1895. Specifically, he was convicted of charges of sodomy that were brought in response to a lawsuit he filed against the Marquis of Queensbury. Roger Peyrefitte (August 17, 1907 – November 5, 2000) was a French diplomat, writer and boylover.
